Day 7: The Engin Petrol Station in Block L

630PM

This is my first post today because today was straight nuts and I had no down time. This is also purely an informational post, with little color because i don't have the intellectual energy for such things.

We started the day at Christ Centered Church in Block L. We met with the local worship team to plan for saturday and work out the rehearsal schedule.

Andrew found a blank wall right around the corner, at a petrol station. Permission is apparently a matter of course for these sorts of things, but it took several negotiations on account of walls have two sides and no one was quite sure who had jurisdiction over this one.

Jared and I spent the whole day painting along with members of the church, Terry, Mandla and Willy. Andrew provided artistic direction.

Meanwhile, the rest of the team were back at the orphan care centers ministering to the caregivers here and helping the kids paint banners for the march on Saturday.

It's a good wall because it's on a very major road in the township. In the early afternoon, when the local schools get out, that road becomes a veritable festival. People are everywhere, music is playing.

At one point a BMW performed the automotive equivalent of a dude walking through a spider web. It was just rolling down the street and suddenly flipped out for no reason. Its hard to explain. There's video.

Tomorrow is music, all day. That's awesome.
